NEW Copper-Oxide Dressings available in the UK

We are delighted to officially launch the brand new MedCU Copper-impregnated antimicrobial dressings to the UK market. These dressings have the same antimicrobial properties as the market-leading silver dressings, however they have two key benefits that make them worth adding to your formulary:
  1. Copper is an essential mineral and therefore copper-based dressings are more tolerable for patients than silver. There is no need to mandate a two-week circuit break in between dressing changes. If you have patients that find silver irritable then copper could be a fantastic solution.
  2. Research shows that the presence of copper in an open wound actively draws more blood vessels to the surface - leading to faster healing rates for patients.
MedCu wound dressings are the only FDA and CE cleared antimicrobial wound dressings impregnated with copper oxide particles in the market. These are single use dressings designed to address acute, post surgical and chronic wounds.

MedCU's wound dressings are easy to apply and remove, and are suitable for a wide variety of wounds including:
  • Diabetic Wounds
  • Leg & Foot Ulcers
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • First and Second-Degree Burns
  • Surgical Wounds
  • Venous and arterial ulcers
We're looking for teams to partner with that are interested in sampling Copper-oxide Dressings to contribute towards an NHS Drug Tarriff application.

Looking back at December and January

A perfect application

In December we treated the first in a series of Debrichem applications with a new Podiatry team that we met at Wounds UK. The patient presented with a chronic leg ulcer that had persisted for over two years, causing her to need daily analgesia to manage the pain.

At the patient's 3-week follow up in January, her wound was already reducing in size and she was no longer needing to take any form of analgesia as her pain had subsided.

Meeting teams across the country

These past two months we have been booking meetings and organising trips to introduce our wound care treatments to teams across the UK. To Lothian and Falkirk, Northern Ireland and Cornwall, and everywhere in between, we're very excited to be out meeting new teams and introducing our portfolio and the benefits it can bring to their patients.

In case you missed it

Watch the first episode of our Debrichem Case Series where Len talks about his experience after treatment of his leg ulcer.
